Margarine
If you wonder what life would be like together,
Let me amuse you.
To answer your question I have stories to tell; about:
Mundanity, vulnerability, nothing new.
Loving me would be about,
Killing time at the waiting room
While we await the train or bad news
Or the spring till the flowers bloom.
Life would be about talking endlessly
Or at least till our eyelids feel the weight of sleep,
It's about saying nothing sometimes, too
& holding each other while we laugh or weep.
We could be about feeding each other fruit,
& let me layer more margarine on your toast than mine; however
This is what life would be like, only
If you let me amuse you forever.
