“If we opened people up, we'd find landscapes” – Agnes Varda.
"When I opened a landscape, I found a portrait of my grandmother. In a digital interface, the graphic symbol of a landscape indicates an image file. Whether the image is of a city, a photograph of a person, a document, a screenshot, actual or virtual, from any geographical location—the symbol remains unaltered. These standard icons facilitate a common language but function at the cost of intimacy and context of the image. This folio questions the generic landscape of the picture icon over the inhabited landscape of the image."
